Sandon Shepard

 Sandon Shepard is a retired Massachusetts government professional with over 30 years of experience, starting with direct caregiving and continuing on to major administrative work. After growing up in New Orleans, he went to school at Eckerd College in St. Petersburg before moving to Massachusetts.  He then received a BA in Social Sciences and a Certificate of Special Studies in Administration and Management from Harvard Extension School. 
His professional career included managing a major state Department’s budget during a period of extensive growth and working to develop fair compensation and reporting models for non-profit organizations providing direct services to Departments within the Massachusetts Executive Office of Human Services.

 In 2016, Sandon and his late wife Ann realized their dream of retiring to live in Sanibel where they had vacationed since the 90’s  Since retiring, he has taken on volunteer activities, including assisting low income residents with their income tax submissions through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA)  program operated by the United Way, and helping in the food pantry operated by the Sanibel non-profit FISH.  He enjoys bringing his experience and expertise to local organizations.When not volunteering, Sandon enjoys being out in nature, bird watching or walking, and listening to music.
